We had a great breakfast with our niece and her husband. We started north along Interstate 5.
We had a good travel day.
We spotted Mount Hood in the distance east of us before the border between Oregon and Washington. We ended up stopping at a rest stop to get the photo we got. These mountains are so majestic but difficult to photograph as you travel down the highway.
We spotted Mount St. Helens as we continued north after crossing the Columbia River.
Mount Rainier appears east of us as we get closer to Seattle.
The freeway through Seattle gave us an opportunity to take a photo of Seattle's skyline.
We were watching the signs that tell you how long you will have to wait to get through the border crossing at Blaine, WA north of Seattle. The first sign we saw predicted a 25 minute wait. The second sign we saw predicted a 40 minute wait. We actually had a 1 1/2 hour wait. We had hoped to get to Vancouver in daylight but as you can see from the photos we took as we sat not so patiently waiting in line, the sun set on that idea.
We are now settled in our hotel in Burnaby and had contacted some of our family to set up visits during our stay.
Our family tells us that they have had more snow in Vancouver this month than they are used to but today the temperature rose and much of the snow melted. We noticed some snow in ditches and such.
